Health Guarantee
Your kitten is guaranteed, until it reaches 12 months of age, against hereditary defects that result in severe impairment or need for authorization. In such cases, your kitten will be replaced with a kitten of equal value as soon as availability permits. This kitten will be provided only after the production of medical verification of the hereditary defect or an autopsy report from a veterinarian, and I will have the option of having my vet confirm the defect. Shipping & handling and vet expenses will be the responsibility of the recipient/new owner.
CLARIFICATION OF HEREDITARY DEFECT: Transmission of characteristics from parents to offspring by a code embodied in the genes and chromosomes. The tendency of an organism to develop in the likeness of its progenitors because of such transmission. An individual genetic inheritance is transmitted by biological heredity from parents or ancestors passed on by one’s forebears (genes). Patellar luxation may be the result of mishandling, injury, or increased weight gain; therefore, it is not covered by this health guarantee.
I certify the cat to have had its first set of vaccinations. You are responsible for the remaining two sets of shots, plus annual boosters. As above, this guarantee is for genetic hereditary defects. This kennel is not responsible for any airborne or communicable diseases such as parvo, coccidian, giardia, distemper, rabies, or any other infectious diseases the kitten may pick up after leaving the premises of Patsy Morrell Ragdolls. We take every precaution to prevent illness, but a kitten’s immune system is immature at the time of transferring to a new home. Be very careful where you take your kitten until fully immunized against the above diseases.
Under no circumstances will Patsy Morrell Ragdolls be responsible for veterinary fees accumulated by our clients for this cat or its offspring. Nor will we be prepared to take any cat or kitten back that becomes ill once it has left these premises; all sales are final. We do not take any responsibility for a cat’s demise while under anesthetic.
It’s your responsibility to keep your kitten or cat in a healthy condition. The training and housebreaking of the cat or kitten is your responsibility, and not of this kennel. The owner is responsible for educating themselves.
It’s your responsibility to take your kitten to the vet for a health check within 48 hours. Otherwise, this contract is null and void.
Exceptions to this Guarantee
Failure to provide your kitten with regular vet care will void this health guarantee. This health guarantee doesn’t cover any costs associated with spaying or neutering, including undescended testes.
We require all our kittens to undergo a thorough check-up before they are shipped to you. This check-up is performed by our licensed vet who issues the Veterinary Health reports for all our kittens. This report certifies the health condition for every kitten against cardiovascular, skin, coat, eyes, mouth, teeth, gums, musculoskeletal, respiratory, ears, urogenital, and gastrointestinal diseases.
This health report will be filled out on the date of shipping the kitten to you so that you are assured that the kitten’s health is guaranteed. This report is then reviewed for any issues or concerns noted by our veterinarian. If there are any serious issues with the kitten, then he/she will not be shipped to you. We also require you to get your kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within ten days of receiving the kitten. Thank you for your cooperation.
